Even though the town of Pine Crest is a figment of my imagination, it was loosely based on Ellensburg, WA, the home of Central Washington University, my alma mater!

Literature
I love all books, but there’s a special place in my heart for the classics. Each Pepper mystery focuses on a different classic author.
Best Friends
Pepper and her roommate/best friend, Liv, are some of my favorite friends to write. I love their relationship. I also love that Alex and Pepper start as semi-enemies.
Dog!
While many of my other books include cats, this one has a lovable dog! Hamburger, Pepper’s Boston terrier is actually based on my friend’s actual dog (she’s sadly not with us anymore, but she was the greatest girl). The story about how she was named Hamburger is real too!
Romance
Of all my series, I’d say Pepper’s contains some of the most romantic elements. They’re still sweet and clean, don’t worry!
